Mike’s Chamber Testimonial
There are a few basic core elements that make a community home. On that list is certainly a vibrant economy to support business and sustain a viable family income.
The Davis Chamber of Commerce provides a unique opportunity for concerned business leaders to unite behind, advocate for, and promote the prosperity of our community.
We not only work in this community, but we live here and are raising our families here and their future and opportunity depends on the foundation we lay for them.

Susan’s Chamber Testimonial
Questar Gas provides natural gas service to most of Utah. We are proud of our record of safe, reliable, affordable natural gas service. In order to continue to provide excellent service to communities, we need the goodwill and cooperation of the business community, elected officials and citizens.
The Davis Chamber provides an excellent way to reach out to our stakeholders because many of them are involved in the Chamber.
The Legislative Affairs committee is a great way to reach out to our elected officials with the strength of the chamber behind it. Indeed, our elected officials attend the meetings of this committee. The Mayor’s luncheon is a great way to meet the Mayors of the communities that are part of the Davis Chamber.
Fellow business leaders are our customers in their businesses and homes. Working with them in the Chamber builds valuable relationships. These are relationships I wouldn’t have the opportunity to build in any other way.
In addition to the business advantages, it is fun!

After receiving a degree in Human Resources from BYU, Michael worked for five years as a Human Resources specialist for Amoco Corporation with stops in Oklahoma, Georgia and Texas. In 1994 he left Amoco and returned to BYU to pursue a Masters degree in Business Administration. After completing his MBA he went to work, again in Human Resources, for a much smaller Utah based company. After two years he transitioned into line management and became a Product Director with the same company. In this role he managed all operational aspects of an 80 person department including engineering, design, scheduling, purchasing and manufacturing.
Eventually Michael decided it was time to pursue his goal of business ownership and purchased a small struggling manufacturing company. He succeeded in turning the business around and making it a successful enterprise. After seven years of owning and operating the company he decided to take his career in a different direction and sold the company. Before purchasing the manufacturing company he had been intrigued by the prospects of becoming a financial advisor. After selling the company he again looked into this field and ultimately decided it offered a perfect fit for what he wanted for the rest of his career; an entrepreneurial atmosphere where he could utilize his expertise in business and finance and yet have a major focus on dealing with and helping individuals.
Michael was born in Ogden and raised in Farmington. He is an alumnus of Davis High School where his children are or will be fourth generation Darts. He has been married since 1988 to his wife whom he met on a study abroad program in Europe. They have four children and live in Kaysville. He has held many volunteer positions within his church the Chamber, and the community. He is an original member of the board of directors of “Hope for Widows”, a non-profit organization created to help widowed women, especially younger widows, to cope with the loss of their husbands. Michael enjoys reading, gardening, golfing and travel. He has travelled extensively in Europe, East Asia, Russia and Israel.
